Earlier in the day, the Archbishop participated in the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral.

“I was honored to be the principal celebrant of the Chrism Mass at @CathedralPhila this morning. Each year the priests of @ArchPhilly are invited to concelebrate this mass and renew our priestly promises,” tweeted Thursday Bishop Perez. “During this Mass, I blessed the oil of catechumens as well as the oil of the sick and consecrated the oil of chrism. These holy oils will be used in the parishes of @ArchPhilly over the coming year during the celebration of the sacraments.
