Hero MotoCorp recorded a 33.30% year-over-year decline in domestic sales while exports increased 28.52%.
Hero MotoCorp reported a 33.30% decrease in domestic sales to 5,277,779 units, from 7,911,137 units sold in October 2020. Exports saw some increase year-over-year from 15,711 units sold in October 2020 to 20,191 units sold the month at a growth of 28.52 percent.
Hero sales, export disruption October 2021 year-on-year
Each model showed year-over-year decrease in domestic markets, with the exception of the Xpulse 200. Hero Splendor led domestic sales with 2,67821 units sold, down 15.19% from 3,15,798 units sold in October 2020. Hero Splendor currently holds a 50.75 percent share in the company’s lineup. Splendor was the best-selling two-wheeler in October 2021 while Honda Activa came in second.
At No. 2 was HF Deluxe with a year-on-year decrease of 29.50% to 1,64,311 units, compared to 2,061 units sold in October 2020 with a 31.14% share. Hero Glamor and Pleasure also recorded a decrease of 67.28% and 7.16% respectively, down to 25,663 units and 21,716 units in October 2021. Hero Passion and Destini 125 also recorded lower year-on-year sales by 76.61% and 51.72% respectively to 17,666 units and 12,898 units respectively in October 2021.
Lower in order, even as Hero Xtreme 160R and Maestro saw a decrease of 44.56% and 70.25%, Hero Xpulse saw demand increase by 54.27% year-on-year. Sales of 2,473 units increased to 3,815 units last month.
Hero Hunk was in great shape in global markets last month. Sales increased 1627.09% year-on-year to 8,480 units, compared to 491 units exported in October 2020. HF Deluxe also recorded positive growth of 97.77% year-on-year to 4,974 units, compared to 2,515 units sold in October 2020. 2,982 units last month, up from 5,291 units shipped in October 2020. Glamor was another model in the company’s lineup to perform better with 60.86% year-on-year growth at 2,770 units.
Likewise, the company’s Pleasure bike also saw an increase in demand in global markets by 58.54% to 260 units, while Xtreme 160/200 shipments increased from 36 to 80 units year-on-year. Exports of Destini 125 fell 50% to 60 units while Achiever, Xtreme 150, Duet and Passion were discontinued.
Hero sales, export disruption October 2021 MoM
Domestic sales increased 4.30% on a monthly basis to 5,27,723 units, compared to 5,05,946 units sold in September 2021. Once again, the Splendor took first place on the list. with 2,67,821 units sold, down 3.60%. more than 2,77836 units sold in September 2021.
Domestic sales of the HF Deluxe increased 22.13% to 1,64,311 units on a MoM basis while those of Glamor fell 4.48% to 25,663 units, from 26,866 units sold in September 2021. By the suite, Pleasure (21,716 units), Passion (17,666 units). ) and Destini 125 (12,898 units) all recorded growth in MoM, as did Xtreme 160R (6,919 units), Maestro (6,914 units) and Xpulse 200 (3,815 units).
Exports based on MoM fell 18.86% to 20,191 units, from 24,883 units shipped in September 2021. Hunk led the list with 8,480 units exported last month, up from 21 , 16% compared to 6,999 units shipped in September 2021.
Hero HF Deluxe also saw a 2.70% growth in MoM exports to 4,974 units, compared to 4,843 units exported in September 2021. Exports fell for Hero Splendor, Glamor and Xpulse 200 and Maestro and Xtreme 160/200 while that of Hero Pleasure has increased significantly by 140.74% to 260 units out of 108 units shipped in September 2021.
